Shiba Eternity to Transform Gaming on Shibarium

  • Shiba Eternity is set to become the first game to fully run on Shibarium, with the team behind it revealing recently that a big announcement is due in the coming days.
  • As it transitions into Shibarium, the game promises a revamped UI, new tournament formats, and an improved reward system.

Shibarium’s vision of becoming the go-to Web3 gaming ecosystem is taking shape, with the pending launch of Shiba Eternity ushering in a new era for the Shiba Inu blockchain network.

Shibarium has been growing rapidly since its launch last August, as Crypto News Flash reported at the time. Since then, it has continued to attract users for its low fees and fast transactions—in late June, its transaction volume surged 441%, for instance.

However, Shibarium had yet to venture into Web3 gaming. This will change soon, with the team behind Shiba Eternity revealing Monday that it would soon make a big announcement.

Shiba Eternity launched in October 2022 as a Web2 game where players collect awe-inspiring cards, craft their own decks, and then use them to train their digital pets, known as Shiboshis. They would then engage in competition with friends and other players as they strived to build their Shiba Army.

Depending on the unique combinations of cards and Shiboshis, users could choose their fighting strategies, from flinging fireballs at their opponents to summoning pizza monsters.

However, since early 2023, the team has been inactive until this week.

While the team didn’t reveal much on Twitter, ecosystem publication Shib Daily reached out to the project to find out more about the impending relaunch on Shibarium.

Angel, the product manager for Shib Games described Shiba Eternity as “our first game to fully run on Shibarium, Shib’s own blockchain.”

With the relaunch will come “a revamped UI, an improved reward system, and new tournament formats,” Angel added.

Web3 Gaming on Shibarium

Shiba Eternity initially launched as a Web2 game, and as it becomes decentralized, the team promises a complete overhaul to offer users better features and more control of their assets.

“Shiba Eternity aims to be a major upgrade from our previous Web 2.0 version, offering loads of fun for our players,” Angel told the outlet.

The game’s venture into Web3 is made possible by a new push to introduce Web3 gaming on Shibarium. Last month, Shiba Inu revealed a roadmap for the gaming ecosystem, with Shiba Eternity announced as the first member of a closed beta.

Angel narrated at the time:

With the Web3 version of Shiba Eternity, we aim to showcase the value that Shibarium can provide to players and developers. Once we integrate Shibarium technology, we open up new experiences for our players such as true ownership of their cards, having a player-driven economy, and a form of governance over the game. Shibarium is designed to ensure seamless gameplay by offering high scalability at a low cost.

Besides gaming, the Shiba Inu community continues to grow; K9 Finance’s token KNINE was recently listed on ShibaSwap, as we reported.

SHIB trades at $0.0000191, gaining 5.72% in the past day for an $11.26 billion market cap.
