NVIDIA and IQVIA are partnering to develop advanced AI models to enhance clinical research and healthcare services, leveraging NVIDIA’s AI Foundry platform.

In a groundbreaking partnership, NVIDIA and IQVIA have joined forces to develop domain-specific AI technologies aimed at transforming the healthcare and life sciences sectors. According to NVIDIA, this collaboration focuses on creating custom foundation models and agentic AI workflows to enhance research and clinical development.

Enhancing Clinical Trials with AI

The partnership aims to leverage IQVIA’s vast healthcare data and NVIDIA’s AI capabilities to improve the efficiency of clinical trials and optimize the launch of new therapies and medical devices. This initiative is expected to result in better patient outcomes by streamlining processes and reducing the time required for clinical trials, which currently averages around 11 years.

IQVIA will utilize its Connected Intelligence, combined with NVIDIA’s AI Foundry service, to create language and multimodal foundational models. These models will power a suite of customized AI agents, designed to execute specific tasks within clinical workflows, such as site selection and participant recruitment.

NVIDIA AI Foundry: A Key Enabler

IQVIA plans to use the NVIDIA AI Foundry platform, along with NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, to develop these AI agents. This includes employing NVIDIA NIM microservices and the Llama Nemotron and Cosmos Nemotron model families, which facilitate the creation of custom generative AI solutions.

The NVIDIA AI Blueprint for multimodal PDF data extraction will assist IQVIA in unlocking valuable healthcare information stored in various formats, enabling the development of domain-specific applications. Additionally, NVIDIA RAPIDS data science libraries will accelerate the construction of knowledge graphs, further enhancing the capabilities of these AI systems.

This collaboration marks a significant step in the responsible use of AI in healthcare, with a strong emphasis on privacy, regulatory compliance, and patient safety. By automating complex tasks such as document generation and patient recruitment, the partnership aims to free up healthcare professionals to focus on strategic decision-making and patient care.
