GameStop Confirms Launch Of Its NFT Marketplace On ImmutableX

After months of waiting, the GameStop NFT marketplace is finally live on ImmutableX. This is according to a company statement seen yesterday afternoon.

The NFT marketplace will “unlock access to Web3 games and millions of world-class, NFT gaming assets to more than 50 million GameStop players and GameStop Powerup Pro Loyalty customers across the United States.”

The gaming retail giant chose ImmutableX as a partner due to its zero gas fees for trading and minting NFTs in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Now visitors of the marketplace will be able to access “billions of low-cost, in-game assets that they can easily buy and sell.” Also, they will be able to access interesting Web3 games that are on ImmutableX, such as Illuvium, Gods Unchained, and Guild of Guardians.

The Launch Of GameStop NFT Marketplace Is The Result Of Months Of Collaboration

The launch of the NFT marketplace is the result of many months of working together after a partnership between GameStop and ImmutableX was struck in February.

Since then, the two entities have collaborated on other initiatives, such as the launch of a $100 million grant that will support builders and creators of NFT-based Web3 games.

Also, GameStop’s NFT marketplace wallet has integrated with ImmutableX to allow users to easily manage their digital assets.

According to Robbie Ferguson, co-founder, and president of ImmutableX, there is no end in sight to the partnership as the layer 2 protocol plans to continue to deepen its relationship with GameStop as they build the “future world of Web3 gaming together.”

Over the past year, GameStop has stepped up its efforts to conquer Web3 with a suite of integrations. After partnering with ImmutableX, a self-custodial wallet for crypto and NFTs was released in May.

In July, the company partnered with Loopring, a layer 2 scaling protocol, to help process transactions for its beta marketplace. And as of yesterday, there is another partnership with FTX on the way.
