AMC Offer Free NFTs to ‘The Batman’ Moviegoers
AMC Theatres are giving away NFTs to those who watch the highly anticipated ‘The Batman’ theatrical launch at their US locations. The initiative comes as part of a new style of web3 interaction, where blockbuster movie producers reward their most enthusiastic fans with free, on-brand NFTs as a ‘thank you’ for their dedication.
The movie is set for its big release on March 4th, with tickets being released on February 10th. Those who purchase or reserve a ticket to the film’s showings on March 4th or 5th before February 14th will receive a free ‘The Batman’ NFT. The tickets can be purchased or reserved on AMCTheatres.com, or on the company’s website.
AMC CEO Adam Aron spoke about his excitement for the NFTs, which come in partnership with Warner Bros: “We are excited to fill AMC theatres across the country this March with DC fans enjoying The Batman. Rewarding early ticket purchasers with this limited edition The Batman NFT will deliver fans more of the franchise they love”.
The press release from AMC did not mention the attributes of the NFTs, nor how many will be on offer, however looking back on AMC’s previous forays in NFT giveaways, the company have been relatively generous with their offerings, as the launch of the ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ film saw 86,000 NFTs be released as part of a similar initiative, whilst their most recent shareholder NFT was distributed to over 425,000 people. The producers of Sci-Fi disaster film ‘Moonfall’ also conducted a similar project earlier this month.
